Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to everyone who uses MCBanners (minecraftbanners.net). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The Privacy Policy is part of these terms.

1. Using MCBanners

Anyone can browse the gallery and use the banner and shield makers. To share a design, vote, comment, or follow other members you need an account. You must be at least 13 years old to create one; if you are under the age at which you can agree to these terms where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you.

One person, one account. Creating an account, logging in, and resetting a password require passing an automated check that you are a person. Keep your password private: everything done from your account is your responsibility, whether or not you did it yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.

2. Your designs and the licence you give

You own the banner and shield designs you create. When you share one on MCBanners you license it to everyone under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License. That lets other members view it, copy it, use it in their own Minecraft worlds, and build on it or parts of it to create their own designs, as long as they share alike. It also lets us store it, display it in the gallery, generate its preview and commands, and let other members comment on it and vote on it.

You confirm that the design, its name, its description, and its tags are yours to license and do not copy someone else's work or infringe anyone's rights. If they do, you are responsible, not us.

3. Shared designs are permanent

Once a design is shared it stays on the site, even if you later delete your account. Its page keeps working and it is attributed to a “Deleted Member” name instead of you. Think before you share: if you are not sure, keep the design in the editor or save its share link instead. We may still remove a design ourselves under section 5.

4. Community rules

MCBanners is a place for Minecraft players of all ages and backgrounds. Everything you post here, whether a design, its name, description, or tags, a comment, a reply, or your profile, must follow these rules. Do not post anything that:

• attacks or demeans people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic, including slurs, hate symbols, and Holocaust denial or other hate propaganda;
• harasses, bullies, threatens, or intimidates anyone, or encourages others to do so;
• is sexual or pornographic, or sexualises anyone under 18 in any way;
• glorifies or incites violence, terrorism, self-harm, or cruelty;
• reveals private information about anyone, such as a real name, address, phone number, school, or other personal details, without their consent;
• impersonates a person, a company, or MCBanners staff, or misrepresents who you are;
• is spam or advertising: links, promotions, repeated or off-topic posts, or anything posted to drive traffic elsewhere. Comments and tags may not contain links at all;
• contains or points to malware, scams, phishing, or cheats;
• breaks any law, or infringes someone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
• gets around a ban, suspension, or removal, or uses another account to do so.

Comments and tags are checked automatically and will be refused if they contain links or language that is not allowed. Getting past that check, for example with a creative spelling, does not make the content acceptable and is itself a breach of these rules. Be kind: disagreement is fine, contempt is not.

5. Enforcement

We decide what stays on the site. We may remove or edit any content, and warn, suspend, or ban any account, at any time, with or without notice, and without having to explain the decision. We are not obliged to monitor content, but we may. Members can report designs, comments, and members that break the rules using the report buttons, and we look at every report.

We keep a record of who created an account, shared a design, or posted a comment, together with technical details of the request. We use it to enforce these rules, and we will pass it to the police or other authorities where the law requires it or where we believe someone is at risk. Serious or repeated breaches may be reported without warning.

6. Comments and votes

Comments cannot be edited after posting; you can delete your own. Votes and follows can be changed at any time. Do not use multiple accounts, bots, scripts, or trades to manipulate votes, views, followers, or rankings. Do not scrape the site or access it in ways that put an unreasonable load on it.

7. Reporting content and copyright

If something on the site breaks these rules, report it with the report button or contact us. If you believe a design or other content infringes your copyright, see the DMCA page for how to send a takedown notice.

8. Deleting your account

To delete your account, contact us from the email address you registered with. Your account is anonymised: your username and email are replaced with placeholders, your password is removed, and you are signed out everywhere. Your shared designs, votes, comments, and follows remain, attributed to a “Deleted Member” name. Your email address becomes free to register again. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Your responsibility

You are responsible for what you post. If someone makes a claim against us because of something you posted or did on the site, including a breach of these terms or of someone's rights, you agree to cover the costs and damages that result, including reasonable legal fees.

10. No warranty and limits on our liability

MCBanners is a free fan site provided as-is and as available. We do our best to keep it running, accurate, and safe, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or free of content that breaks the rules, and we do not check what other members post before it appears. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from anything another member posts, or from the site being unavailable, and where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Minecraft

MCBanners is a fan-made site. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Minecraft and its assets are the property of Mojang Studios.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions about these terms: contact us.
