DescriptionPale grey diagonals crossed by a black saltire on brown, command blocks drawn as pure pattern. The saltire is what turns two loose diagonals into a grid, and the misspelled title has been part of the charm for years now.

How to Apply This Banner to a Shield
In Minecraft Java Edition, craft the underlying banner using the loom recipe above. Then, place a blank wooden shield and the crafted banner together in any crafting grid. The shield will inherit the banner's pattern. Need a shield first? See how to make a shield in Minecraft.
To summon the decorated shield directly using commands, select your Minecraft version in the command panel above and click Copy Command.
